It was Community Day during church, so many important members of the community were there to speak or be honored. Then Joanne Dedert stood to speak. She was introduced as the director of The Madonna House. As I listened to her speak all I could think was that I somehow needed to help this organization. After herself and others were done speaking our pastor stood to preach. His message was about blessing others. He spoke on how it was O.K. to ask God for blessings because we cannot bless others until we ourselves are blessed. I felt like God was speaking directly to me. I had been so blessed in 2015 and I had been wanting to give back to my community for so long and I struggled to figure out how I could. How could I volunteer, give back, or be useful. I really struggled to figure it out. Until that day. It was instantly clear. I was going to hold Chirstmas Mini Sessions (which I had no plans on doing this year) and I was going to donate all of the proceeds to The Madonna House.
I am so grateful for all of the clients who booked a session. I want to thank Shaby Fischer at First Comes Love (https://www.facebook.com/fclscraft) for donating money to go towards props, and I want to thank Inspired Ink for giving me a discount on my backdrop. With the help of everyone I was able to donate $390.00 to the Madonna House. I was able to deliver that to them a few weeks and I felt so grateful to be able to help the families in my community in any way I could, the only way I knew how. Using photography to help others.
I want to encourage anyone and everyone, if you feel like you have been blessed than take time to bless others. -Rachael
