Abel was beautiful, sweet and easy to work with (a photographers dream). You could feel the joy and warmth as you walked through the Harmer family's beautiful home. I absolutely adore doing these lifestyle sessions because I really get to know people and get a feel for who they are. They picked some really great spots for their pictures and each one is a familiar and happy spot for them. Which will make even more lasting memories. It was such a happy experience working with them.
Have a great weekend friends. -Rachael
I've got some pretty exciting news here at Rachael Bangert Photography. I am now offering in-hospital newborn sessions for families that deliver in Quincy. You read that right. No longer will you feel limited to the pictures that the hospital offers. Now you can get gorgeous pictures of your baby at a more affordable price from a photographer (yours truly) who wants to give you pictures that you will love for a lifetime.
These pictures in the first few days are so important because in such a short amount of time your baby is going to change drastically. Any parent will tell you time goes by fast and memories can fade quickly, if you already have children you know this too be true. It wont be long until you can't remember those days so clearly. Those tiny toes, that fuzzy hair, the itty-bitty diapers that are still too big. We fall in love with these tiny babies the second we see them; there is so much going on those first few days it's not always easy to remember the amazing little details that we fall in love with. That is why I decided to do this. To help you remember all of that cuteness.
There are four wonderful collections to choose from and with each you get digital images with printing rights at no extra cost. I firmly believe that everyone deserves to have beautiful images of the newest member of their family without breaking the bank. The first two collections, The Bundle of Joy and The Baby Love Collection give you two very affordable options while still giving you beautiful memories that you will love. The Celebration Collection and The Forever Keepsake Collection offer you a more boutique type of session. With these collections you get to spend your time as you want. You can have family portraits, breastfeeding pictures, images of your older children falling in love with their sibling, or have the whole time used to photograph the tiny details of your amazing new baby. For the later two I also bring wraps, headbands and hats to cater to your family's taste. I firmly believe that there is something for everyone here.
Here is how it works. It is super easy. After your baby has arrived you can go here to select and book your session. I recommend putting a note in your hospital bag when you pack it to remind you to book your session as these collections will ONLY be offered in-hospital. When you go to book you will pick the first time slot available. That is all you have to do. I take care of the rest. Depending on which collection you choose I would be with you between 10 and 30 minutes. I typically encourage that only immediate family be in the room during your session. Once your session is finished you will receive an online downloadable gallery of proofs from me. Here's the hard part, picking the pictures you want. After that you will get your downloadable images. You will be notified when your prints arrive.
That is it. It's that easy. There are no extra charges or hidden fees. If you have any questions at all feel free to contact me at the contact tab at the top of the page. I wholeheartedly believe in this service and I know if you decide to use it you will too. Have a blessed day.
It's been a year of boys which has been great for me because last year was a year of girls. It's been nice getting to switch it up some.
Such a sweet little bundle.-Rachael
Mom had one request, no pink. So the challenge was on. A girly feminine session with no pink.

The Contest is OVER!
Last year was my first time entering the shoot and share contest. I was amazed by all of it. It was so much fun and so inspiring. Last year there were 110,000 photos entered into the contest and I took second place in the "That Just Happened" category and I was a finalist in the "Personal Work" category. I knew I wanted to enter again this year and I also knew the competition would be fierce. There were way more entries this year, over 225,000 in fact, which meant more (friendly) competition. I told myself in the beginning that I would be happy if my pictures placed higher over all than if I had one or two "winners" and that is exactly what happened. I am very pleased because I know that it means as a whole my work has improved and that is my goal every year. I use this competition as inspiration and drive. I want seeing all of this amazing work to push me to do better every year.
I must say I am utterly shocked by my finalist photo. I was truly guessing it would be out in the first round and have gotten a good chuckle that this accidental picture made it so far.
Here are the images that took some honors. I will tell you what category they were in and where they placed.
Yep that's right, I took a picture of glitter with my phone and it became a finalist. Do you see why I have been chuckling?
I want to say a special thank you to everyone over at Shoot and Share. Your team did an exceptional job of running this contest and doing your absolute best to make the community happy. Great job guys!
From Newborn to One
Kynleigh was such a precious baby to watch grow. I always got such a wide range with her which I just love. Some times she would give me giant smiles while other times she would just stare into my lens which i adore. She was wide awake during her newborn session but an easy baby to work with. She has always been such a joy to shoot. She is such a beautiful little girl and I know she will grow to do amazing things. Happy Birthday Kynleigh!
It has been a great joy and blessing to watch this little girl grow. Thank you for making my job so easy Miss Kynleigh. -Rachael
Little baby Charlotte came all the way from the greater St. Louis area to see me. I think her parents and I were a tad nervous. They had told me previously how important it was to them to get good sibling shots. They had also told me that big sister wanted nothing to do with baby. I figured my best shot was to lay Miss Charlie down and let Kenley just sit behind her. Imaging my surprise and happiness when she agreed to touch Charlotte and interact with her some. Charlotte wasn't too happy after being in the car for awhile so we decided since she wanted to be loved on by mom and dad, and the fact that we couldn't really reschedule that we would turn it into a family session.
It's always nice to see friends in my studio. Happy Tuesday! -Rachael
Kylee's Newborn Session
I was so excited when Kelsie and Josh asked me to do Kylee's newborn pictures. I love, love, love it when I get to do a couples maternity session and their newborn sessions. I love getting to watch these babies grow. I asked Kelsie what the theme of Kylee's nursery was and she told me it was hot pink and zebra. So I ran with it. I love when I get to plan out these sessions. I really enjoy putting my time into making something special for each baby I work with!
Have a sweet week y'all-Rachael
Gracy's Newborn Session
Gracy was 7 days new when she came to see me and she was a joy to work with. She slept most of her session except for a few brief moments when she would wake and side eye me. She made my job easy! She made her arrival on Valentines day so I'm sure she will always be surrounded by love.
Have a lovely week!-Rachael
Meet Kynleigh! She was 2-3 weeks old when she came to see me. I was actually lucky enough to see her twice (she was not happy with me at all during her first session). She was wide awake both times, she is literally the only baby I have ever seen yawn with her eyes open, luckily for me though that meant I got to see her beautiful eyes!
