Paige & Craig Maternity Session
I love shooting maternity sessions but when I get to shoot my family it's even more special. We had known for a while that Paige was high risk and was going to need to deliver early. So we knew we would have to do their session a little sooner than typical. We were so blessed to have such a cool day in August to shoot. I believe it was under 80 degrees and very little humidity which is unheard of in the midwest.
Crockett: A Sweet Maternity Session
I talked to Jessie for months online before we met up for their maternity session. She told me just how much her and her husband Robert loved their dog Gotham. I asked her if she wanted to involve her in their session and she said she hadn't thought much about it. I said let's do it! I'm so glad we did Gotham was such a good dog. She was such a loving addition to these pictures.
Have a blessed day folks- Rachael
Maternity: Ashley, Michael, and Kenley
It would be nearly impossible for an outsider to understand my relationship with Ashley. I've "known" her for close to three years. We know a lot about each other. We have watched each others kids grow. We have watched each other succeed as mothers even when we felt like we were failing. We have lifted each other up when we felt down. There has been happiness, sadness, drama, laughter, disbelief, disgust, joy, pride, and every other thing you could think of in the past three years. But until a month ago we had never met in person. We belong to a special group of women. We are moms, we are wives, we are friends, we are women. We hold each other up when we can't stand on our own. We give advice and we listen. We meet online, and sometimes in person (for those of us lucky enough to), and we are a large group of moms who truly love and respect each other. I'm sure I can speak for Ashley in saying that we as moms are so truly blessed to have found each other in such an amazing group of extraordinary women.
With all of that being said it was amazing getting to meet Ashley in person. I wouldn't normally bring my family along with me to a session but since I drove several hours to be able to do this session they came along and to be quite honest I wanted her and Kenley to be able to meet my boys because we all feel so intertwined. I am so happy I got to work with them and can't wait to do their newborn session.
The kiddos met and instantly started holding hands, it really was the sweetest thing ever.
Have a fantastic week everyone!-Rachael
Sabrina, Vic and Quinten
I couldn't say enough about these people if I tried. Sabrina has been one of my best friends since....birth I suppose. I kind of think we were made for each other. We were born four months apart as cousins and grew up as friends. We are very different from each other and yet very much alike at the same time. It's so funny because our boys are the same. They are three months apart and quite the opposite of each other but when they get together they are so happy to be playing together. Now I have had my second boy and Sabrina and Vic (who is also pretty awesome himself) are having their second boy and he will be (give or take) four months younger than my little one. I am sure they will probably be opposites too but so happy together.
I am so blessed to have this family in my life and I love them with all of my heart. I am officially on call for the birth of little Liam and I cannot wait to meet him. Here are some shots from their maternity session.
May all of you be blessed with a Sabrina in your life-Rachael
Kayla + Tommy Downtown Maternity Session
Kayla and I were emailing back and forth the day before her session and she was telling me she was excited and nervous. Let me tell you these two had nothing to be nervous about. They rocked this session. They showed up looking amazing and even though it was a little chilly and muddy that day we had a great time!
I hope all of you are enjoying this awesome spring weather. I know we are!-Rachael
Kari + Joey: Maternity
You know what is awesome, these guys are having a baby today!! This was a chilly cold session. I do believe it was 17 degrees out that day, who knows what the wind chill was. Even though it was cold, windy, and icy these two made it work! I am always happy to welcome a new family into the Oh Baby! family and this was no exception. I will also get the awesome privilege of watching this little girl grow up as her parents have signed up for my Grow Baby Grow package. I can't wait to get ahold of her for her newborn pictures! Here are some of my favorite from this session.
So excited for these two to welcome their daughter into the world today. -Rachael
We had an absolutely beautiful day for this session it wasn't even hot out and it was late July. I searched for weeks for some gorgeous fields of wild flowers and I found 4. I was so excited to do this session. Then disaster struck... ok maybe not disaster. One by one the fields were cut. On the morning of this session I found one more field. It was a perfect location. I took Amber and when we got there it had been cut. I suppose it wasn't meant to be and that was ok because we found a taller field of pretty purple clover.
I was pretty pleased with how this session turned out.
Nikki + Anthony
We were praying for no rain this day and while it was warm and we got sprinkled on once we had a beautiful day for pictures. Baby Abigail is due to arrive in about a month and I am pretty sure her big sister Bailee is pretty excited to meet her!
For those of you who don't know, I love black and white photography! Nikki's adorable outfit really lent well to it. I had to fight myself from making most of these in that fashion. I must say though for me the black and white photos are some of my favorite!
I am a mom and a photographer. My love of motherhood led me to photograph all things from bellies to birth and beyond.
