15 Month Mini Session
I saw this sassy little lady every three months during her first year. Sometimes more often than that. Whenever my clients turn one I prepare myself. I won't see them as often. It's just how it goes. Some clients book sessions at 18 months and some book a two year session but it really dwindles off. And that's ok. Babies don't change as quickly after they hit that first year mark. So imagine my surprise and excitement when her momma contacted me to set up a 15 month session.
She said she wanted flowers and she wanted some pictures of her reading her favorite book The Little Blue Truck. My big kid loves that book too. She sent me some pictures of her outfit and we went from there.
Aubrey is seriously one of the sassiest little girls I have ever met. It's probably why I enjoy her so much. She's after my own heart.
She has been showing off her tongue to me since day one. I could show you several pictures from every session that I have had with her where she is sticking her tongue out at me. Such a silly girl.
Our session was winding down and then this happened. We all just kind of stood there watching. It seemed to happen in slow motion. Then Coby, her daddy, went and picked her up and made sure she was ok. She was and that was when I let them know I captured it. Coby promptly said "We will be buying those!" and that is why I love this family so much.
Mini sessions are such a great way to capture those in between periods. While changes are less drastic after the one year mark there are still a lot of changes that happen. New milestones hit, new faces being made, new personality traits. The changes aren't as drastic but they are still there and it's smart to capture them because those memories will fade.
No toddlers were harmed in the making of this mini session.-Rachael
